Alejandro Benjumea

HEAD YOUTH FITNESS TRAINER-ASSISTANT MANAGER
Alejandro Benjumea was born in Medellin, Colombia and raised in South Florida. He graduated from Monarch high school in 2013 and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from FAU in 2019. One of his passions is teaching the youth to enjoy the benefits of playing sports and living a healthy lifestyle. Kids love his coaching style because he is fun-spirited and enthusiastic. His coaching career began as soon as he graduated high school. He coached varsity basketball as an assistant for Monarch high school for 5 years, two of which he was positioned as head junior varsity coach. His passion for sports and youth has also helped mold his career in the field of exercise and health as a recreational programmer for the city of Coconut Creek. Other sports he enjoys are volleyball, soccer, and dodgeball. His favorite number is 10 because it’s been his basketball number since he played in the little leagues. One of his biggest goals as a coach and a mentor is to inspire young people to live a healthy lifestyle while also enjoying the benefits of playing sports.
